Apprenctice Program
- what it is
As an apprentice, you will work in exchange for lessons, instruction, and training to be a riding instructor. Not all apprentices will automatically be hired – although qualified candidates will be offered a paid instructor position.
How Long:
The length of your apprenticeship depends on your learning speed and the skills you bring to the program.
Hours: You must commit at least 10 hours per week to the program, including Saturdays from 11:00 – 5:00. You may join either part or full time, and, if you are hired, you may be hired either part or full time.
Requirements as an Apprentice:
- Minimum 10 hours per week.
- Shadow lessons (min. of 30 hours)
- Physical barn work
What You Need:
Appropriate riding clothes including britches, boots, and helmet. Your own housing and transportation to and from the barn.
What You Will Get!:
- Leg Up Lesson Program semester enrollment (value: $1,100 weekly mouted classes).
- Instructor Course - 10 weeks, value: $590).
Hands on Experience with mentorship from a Master Instructor
- Ongoing training and Support including:
Leadership Ttraining, Horse Care and Stable Management, Horse training, Advanced Riding Instrction (level qualified): Dressage and Eventing.
